The last 100 years have not only been about overcoming challenges but also about empowering the next generation. At the heart of Year 101's mission is our #CelebratingWomenInLaw campaign, an online movement highlighting the stories of influential women who have left their mark on the legal profession.
Inspired by Dr Kirstin Ferguson’s viral #CelebratingWomen campaign, #CelebratingWomenInLaw was created not just as a nod to history, but as a commitment to the ongoing support and celebration of women in the legal sphere. When one woman shines, so do those around her, sparking infectious confidence and courage. The collective voice of women in law holds the power to circumvent diversity obstacles in the legal industry and create a more equitable playing field for all.
You'll find a repository of wisdom in our profiles, which highlights women’s suggestions on how leaders and workplaces can address the diversity gap and redefine perceptions about women’s lives and aspirations. There is no better time than now to share the experiences, challenges and opportunities facing women in the legal industry. As Dr Kirstin Ferguson says, throw down a fishing net, not just a ladder, to bring up as many women together, all supporting each other. Together, we’re changing the narrative, shaping a fairer world for women in law everywhere.
