Her story

Zinta is a Principal at Resolve Estate Law.

Without mentioning your job title, how would you describe what it is you do now (whether at home, work, in the community, etc.)?

I help people find their way to live their life forward aligned with their values. This is true for the clients I work with to navigate their forever altered future after the loss of their loved one; for the professionals I mentor; for the friends who seek out my counsel; and for our two children each with their own special needs.

What are the first three words you think of when you hear the word ‘diversity’?

Richness, Open-mindedness, Inclusion.

What do you think it will take to develop truly diverse thinking within the legal industry?

In short, I think we need to bring more focus to the diverse and deeply human needs of each client we serve. The law in many ways is "reductive" in that we focus only on what is "relevant at law" when trying to problem solve for our clients. Instead, we need to get better at asking the curious questions of our clients to find out what is most important to them. We need to stay open-minded to consider other bespoke and more inclusive avenues where we can help clients problem-solve without unthinkingly (or unwittingly) forcing them into a "system" that increases conflict and cost.

What was your main driver to enter the legal industry?

The main driver was (and still is) to help people get through difficult legal issues in a caring and compassionate way.
